NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS!

The First -Time Writers & Illustrators Publishing Initiative is an initiative by the Media Development Authority (MDA) and the National Book Development Council of Singapore (NBDCS) to nurture talents in the publishing industry.

The 4th First-Time Writers & Illustrators Publishing Initiative seeks submissions from local unpublished writers and illustrators for the Children’s Books category.

A James Lee Masterclass
For a select group of young budding writers, Asia’s #1 children’s author wants to work with you!

This is a Masterclass specially designed and conducted by James Lee for young Singaporean writers who have shown distinct skill and interest in writing. This will be a very serious, writer-to-writers session.

For young writers aged between 10 to 16 years.

Date:    2 Dec 08 (Tues), 9.30am to 12.30pm

Venue:  Possibility Room, Level 5,

            National Library Building, Victoria Street

Fee:    This class is free (Allocation of seats is based on first-come-first-serve)

Picture Book Forum

Join us at this 2-day Picture Book Forum to hear from professionals in the children’s book industry.

The objective of this forum is to help first-time writers and illustrators get started and provide them with invaluable tips and guidance on writing and illustrating for children. The forum will also be a great networking opportunity for those just starting to enter the rewarding and fascinating world of children’s book writing and illustrating.

This forum is designed specially for those who are interested in participating in the First -Time Writers & Illustrators Publishing Initiative 2009. However, everyone else who is passionate about writing for children are welcome!!
