From the Private Sphere to the Public Arena: “Auto-Fiction” or a True “Self’ Revisited”? An examination of the role of autobiography in literature

Third conference in a biennial series promoting cultural and literary exchange among noted French and Indonesian scholars and literary figures.  The theme of this year’s conference series is an examination of the transitional space between the private sphere and the public arena, with a focus on the concept of the “Self” as presented in a variety of literary forms.The programme will feature speeches, roundtable sessions and a film hosted by acclaimed scholars and literary figures as include a dinner buffet. With Vincent Bardet, Bernard Chambaz, Anda Djoehana Wiradikarta, Gilbert Hamonic, Christine Jordis, Etienne Naveau, Richard Oh, Laksmi Pamuntjak, Ilse Peralta, Sitor Situmorang.
