Fifteen recently published titles by Lontar are now available for purchase online—through Amazon.com, various “sister-Amazons” (in Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan) and about 100 other online booksellers as well!

Those books are:
•  The Lontar Anthology of Indonesian Drama, Vols. 1-3; Menagerie 7: People Like Us!; I Am Woman!, Gadis Arivia, ed.; and the first ten titles in Lontar’s new Modern Library of Indonesia series, including:
•  Never the Twain (Salah Asuhan) by Abdoel Moeis
•  Shackles (Belenggu) by Armijn Pane
•  Sitti Nurbaya by Marah Roesli
•  And the War is Over (Dan Perang pun Usai) by Ismail Marahimin
•  The Fall and the Heart (Kejatuhan dan Hati) by S. Rukiah
•  The Pilgrim (Ziarah) by Iwan Simatupang
•  Supernova by Dewi Lestari
•  Mirah of Banda (Mirah dari Banda) by Hanna Rambe
•  The Family Room by Lily Farid Yulianti
•  Telegram by Putu Wijaya

Go to Lontar’s website: Lontar/ and click the following link to see in which countries you may order directly: Amazon For the many Friends of Lontar in Australia, please note that you will be able to order Lontar books in-country within the next few days. Keep checking our website (or Amazon).

Further good news is that the three volumes of The Lontar Anthology of Indonesian Drama are now also available in e-book format through a partnership with BookCyclone.  Readers who have a Kindle, Sony, Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo Reader, iPad, or other device can purchase them via the Amazon Kindle store, the Barnes & Noble Nook store, the BookCyclone website, and a number of other e-retailers.  Go to the BookCyclone site.  In the coming weeks, the first 10 volumes of the Modern Library of Indonesia will be available as e-books, as well.

I realize that it would be quite a “chunk of change” for most people to buy all of the above titles at once. As such, please consider making a personal pledge to buy at least one new title per month until you which time you have acquired all of Lontar’s publications.  While Lontar continues to depend on financial contributions for its continued existence, the online sale of only a few hundred books each month would put the Foundation well on the way towards financial sustainability. I hope you will do your part in guaranteeing Lontar’s continued and thriving existence.
