Heather Curnow

Heather has been a curator of colonial art at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery [Launceston] and the Allport Library & Museum of Fine Arts [Hobart]. She has written books, articles, and catalogue essays on all aspects of art, including reviews for the Hobart Mercury.

Her main interests are literary interpretation and translation, with a focus on the image of women in modern Indonesian literature. Heather coordinated the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival in Bali in 2004.  She is co-publisher of the bilingual literary magazine Paradox, and, with Dorothea Rosa Herliany, a co-founder of the Paradox Literary Centre [www.paradoxwriters.org] a support organization for writers in the Asia and Pacific regions [founded 2005].
