Momento Taman

kita menjadi makhluk asing di taman sendiri. kupikir beginilah
rasanya ketakutan. tak sedetik pun waktu bisa untuk berfikir
tentang cinta. sepasang lampu taman seperti mata hantu
yang mengincarmu. rumput-rumput menari di sela angin
menjelma bulubulu hitam raksasa terbaring.

siapa bilang taman itu indah? alangkah sunyi: angin
yang angkuh memperjelas gigil kesendirianku. bulan dan
bebintang di lembaran langit hitam mempertegas
notasi jeritanku. Tuhan yang biasanya bersiul dan
menyanyi di jendela hatiku, kini tengah berjalanjalan
di sepanjang jembatanbambu kekelaman yang asing:
jauh di luar hatiku.

Souvenirs from a Garden

we became strange creatures, in our own garden.
i thought that this was what fear was like. not one moment
to think about love. the two lamps in the garden
were like ghostly eyes boring through you.
the grass danced in the gaps of the wind
like the hair of some sleeping black giant.

who said the garden was beautiful? it was lonely:
the arrogant wind made my shivering more obvious.
the moon and the stars in the broad black sky
made the notes i screamed more defined.
God usually whistles and sings in the window
of my heart, now He walked across a bamboo bridge
towards some strange darkness: far beyond my heart.
