Nicholas Y.B. Wong is currently an MPhil Candidate supervised by film scholar Gina Marchetti at the Department of Comparative Literature, School of Humanities, The University of Hong Kong. His thesis focuses the representation of body parts in relation to desire, dismemberment and fetishism. He has presented papers on Wong Kar-wai’s The Hand and Johnnie To’s Election. His poems are also included in Yuan Yang (2001, HKU), Moving Poetry (2001, HKU Press), Hong Kong English: Autonomy and Creativity (2002, HKU Press), Fe/male Bodies (2005, 2006, Kubrick, HK) and Karawane (expecting 2007, University of Minnesota). His research and reading interests include Haruki Murakami, Wong Kar-wai, Woody Allen, Gus Van Sant, Hollywood and Asian horrors, body fragments and gender studies (especially contemporary queer films and literatures).
