The first “Promoting Progress in China Award” from the Qi’s Cultural Foundation will be presented on 2nd of November in Melbourne, Australia
The current China is crisis-ridden and full of successive conflicts. Neither the government nor the public has enough wisdom to solve various contradictions and conflicts emerged during the social transition. The government holds an iron hand against the people, while the people adopt the “violence for violence” principle against the government. Both have fallen into the vicious circle of “violence for violence”. Sooner or later, China will move into a social ecology of “mutual death”. No hope of a, sustainable future for China.
Reconciliation, and only reconciliation, is the solution to avoid dying together for government and the people, to stop the ongoing of changing dynasties through violence in its history of thousands of years, and ultimately to reach co-existence for all walks of life in the society.
By an undersigned coincidence, the Qi’s Cultural Foundation shares the same belief with the Chinese Reconciliation Think Tank. With its first “Promoting Progress in China Award” presented to the Think Tank, the Qi’s Cultural Foundation would like to show respect to the efforts the Think Tank has made to publicize reconciliation to the Chinese government and the people.
The presentation and workshop will be held in Melbourne, Australia on the 2nd of November 2008. Former Senator Tzebin Chen, overseas Chinese democratic movement leader Dr. Juntao Wang, will join it Think Tank founders Dr. Yueshou Qiu and Guangze Wang.
Besides the presentation of the award, a discussion conference will also be held focusing on reconciliation in China, joined by experts from different fields.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could make some media report to cover this event, or if you could make some interviews with people from the Think Tank and the Qi’s Cultural Foundation before, during or after the conference.
Time: 2-5 pm, 2nd of November 2008
Venue: Level 13, 474 Flinders Street, Melbourne, 3000
