your feet : a series

1.
your feet are gnarled my love
the bones knotted and twisted
but I am drawn to them
because they are the proof
that you have walked
naked as the rain in waves
on the ocean floor

2.
I wash your feet
With honey and oils
Pressing my lips against your instep
you smile before falling into a sleep
as deep as the sky

3.
to take each toe in my mouth
one at a time
is to unleash
the waters that flow between
our islands:
I kiss you instead.

4.
I fly the sky
to swim to you move the dance
to your body rhythm of moon and tongue:
touch me again with your hands
with your lips
yes with even your feet
slide your body over mine
gently
to tilt the world
into a scream
that I may arch my legs
somewhere between neck and heaven…

5.
Starting at your feet
I move the contours of your body
Soft shadows and hard lines
Drawing you into my memory.
