Giramondo books shortlisted for Literary awards

Giramondo books and authors shortlisted for Australian Literary Awards:

Robert Gray’s autobiography, The Land I Came Through Last, and Dmetri Kakmi’s memoir Mother Land, were both recently shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s Douglas Stewart Prize for Non-Fiction.

Alan Wearne’s new collection of poems, The Australian Popular Songbook, was shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry; it has also been awarded the prestigious 2009 Grace Leven Prize for Poetry.

Evelyn Juers’ collective biography House of Exile: The Life and Times of Heinrich Mann and Nelly Kroeger-Mann has been shortlisted for the Australian Literature Society Gold Medal.
