1. Asian Congress of Storytellers (ACS) 2005

The Asian Congress of Storytellers 2005 has lined -up a star-studded group of speakers who will be coming together to share their knowledge and skills in storytelling. For five years now, people from various professions and backgrounds have been faithfully attending ACS and they leave inspired and equipped to use storytelling in their professional and personal lives. This year, ACS has put together 17 workshops on the different aspects of storytelling all conducted by well-known and recognised experts in Singapore and from abroad. There will be special workshops on teaching science through stories, storytelling with teenagers and storytelling for the disabled.

2. Storytellers Showcase 2005

The Storytellers Showcase brings together some of the biggest names in storytelling on stage to tell their fascinating tales. This year, storytellers from Asia, USA, New Zealand and Australia will tell Asian Stories in different styles and flavours against the background and tradition of the respective Asian countries. As this year is the Hans Christian Anderson bicentenary, we have a storyteller who will inspire you with H.C. Anderson’s tales. The Storytellers’ Showcase 2005 promises a journey through a world where Asian tales come to life.

Date: 12 – 15 November 2005 (Saturday – Tuesday)

3. Asian Children’s Writers and Illustrators Conference (ACWIC) 2005

This is an annual event that has been supporting, promoting and nurturing children’s writers and illustrators in Singapore and the region. ACWIC is the only event in Singapore, and possibly Asia that caters to a select group of individuals who have chosen to devote their creative energy to children’s literature.
ACWIC is an ideal platform for you to exchange tips with experienced professionals. You will be able to gain insights into new and innovative ways of writing for children. Enjoy stimulating presentations and conversations and the opportunity to seek advice from professionals who are familiar with the issues that concern you. There will also be concurrent workshops on diverse topics where you can learn additional skills.
